DO IT NOW!

This morning, when my little girl's room looked like a typhoon just made its landing, I looked at my 6 years old and this is what I tell her. "It is the devil on your shoulder that made you leave the towels on the floor instead of hanging them up after a bath. It is the devil who made you throw your clothes on the floor instead of folding them up and putting them where they should be. Whenever you are tempted to do things you know were lazy, uncaring or wasteful, it is the devil creating the temptation. And we do not want this devil to take control of our life."  She seems to understand. (I hope)

We all have devil in our life. And if not handled properly, this devil will push us in the wrong direction and prevent us from achieving our goals.

Handle procrastination and temptation. I give you Three little words “ DO IT NOW”. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Whenever the devil is talking to you, say to yourself “ I have tremeduous willpower.” That alone will help you to avoid tempatiton.

Always believe in yourself.

Love Unconditionally

"The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others but ourselves as well." - Elisabeth Kubler Ross

The word Unconditional means" without limitations." Perhaps a more complete definittion of the term, though, is " without limitations and without regrets." When we love others unconditionally, we acknowledge their shortcomings and do not judge them. They may frustrate us with broken promises, disappoint us with unfulfilled tasks, test our patience, and at times drive us crazy for loving them, but we never regret loving them for who they are and are willing to embrace the heartburn that may come with that decision. This is different from conditional love, where failing to meet certain expectations or provisions in a relationship can be a major source of regret that may ultimately end the relationship.

I am blessed that in my lifetime, I was loved by many. However, there was always conditional love in all my relationships. It was only after the demise of my loved one that I know what unconditional love is. With that, I gave myself a chance to be loved once more by a great man. For the first time, there was no expectation from being with this person. All we wanted was to be happy together. I just want us to really enjoy being together for as long as possible. At the end of the day, I choose to be with him knowing that he may hurt me the most.

Though the relationship has no happy ever, there was no regret on my part. I had choose to Live life with no regrets and by accepting him and having him in my life for a brief moment was already a blessing. I think I will never love another the way I love him. He has become part of me that when we parted, a major part of me just died. The pain was unbearable and I pray that I will not have to go through this pain ever.

Limited Time - Steve Jobs

A dear friend send me this message and sadly, not everyone is able to live according to Steve Jobs saying.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice." Steve jobs

God Gave Me You-Bryan White

For all the times I felt cheated, I complained
You know how I love to complain
For all the wrongs I repeated, though I was to blame
I still cursed that rain
I didn't have a prayer, didn't have a clue
Then out of the blue

God gave me you to show me what's real
There's more to life than just how I feel
And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes
And all that I live for though I didn't know why
Now I do, 'cause God gave me you

For all the times I wore my self pity like a favorite shirt
All wrapped up in that hurt
For every glass I saw, I saw half empty
Now it overflows like a river through my soul
From every doubt I had, I'm finally free
I truly believe

God gave me you to show me what's real
There's more to life than just how I feel
And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes
And all that I live for though I didn't know why
Now I do, 'cause God gave me you

In your arms I'm someone new
With ever tender kiss from you
Oh must confess
I've been blessed

God gave me you to show me what's real
There's more to life than just how I feel
And all that I'm worth is right before my eyes
And all that I live for though I didn't know why (didn't know why)
Now I do (I finally do), 'cause God gave me you (God gave me You)

God gave me you

Dare to Love

Do I follow my heart or do I go with my head? At the end of the day, as Petrea King says, " Love is all there is." Why not put myself out there and follow my heart. Will it get broken? Maybe! Will I get rejected? Possibly! But what if i don't act and miss out on what could be the most amazing relationship of my life just because I am worried about getting hurt? By taking the chance, I open myself up to the magic of love and it is love that gives our life meaning.

Living My life the way I want to be remembered

When I first found out that I was pregnant with my first child. I was literally crying and in shock. I was about to accept a regional job with HSBC Hong Kong. But now, thinking back, God does has his plan for us in his own way.

When I delivered my first born, I understood that it was all well worth the sacrifice. It was miraclous to bring a new life into the world. A little one that come from you. The joy of carrying her in my arm for the first time and nursing her. The joy was just out of this worLd.

When my darling tell me that we will be a happy family, the feeling was just like God showering me with so much love that I wish time stood still because the happiness was only for 2 weeks.

Life can change in an instant. We all need to realize that. And it did change when I received news of love sudden death. Time healed all wounds but the scar will always remain for us to know that we have to cherish each day and work at being our best.

My love led a fulfilling and happy life. We witnessed the friendships he made around the world. The many friends that flew down to HK to send him off with many just given less than 2 weeks notice. The touching stories that many wrote on the website that was specially created for him by one of his good friend in Canada. I believe my love had lived a life that he want to be remembered for, always.

I recalled many years ago when love asked me "How do I want my life to be remembered?" I have always been a positive girl. I never had any major setbacks while growing up. I treat everyone around me with kindness and I only see the good in them. I seek to be explorers on a mission of discovery instead of a passenger on a journey through time. I choose to embrace life as an active individual treating each day as opportunity. I choose to make every day count by engaging myself in what life has to offer. To make a deliberate attempt on how I want to spend my time instead of sitting on the sidelines and watching life passing me by with regrets. I want to get involved  in a cause that is important to me. Go to places that I have not been before. Hang out with people who I enjoy spending time with. Be curious and keep learning.

With that, I said "Don't wait for tomorrow to live your life the way you want to be remembered today".

Take note of the person you are today and the person that you hope to be. What changes will you make? What will you do more of or less of? What will you start doing and stop doing? What will you start doing today to live more in line with that image?

Five Years On

" I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." - Marilyn Monroe

As I sit here and write this, it is 10 May 2010. Three years that my beloved hubby passed away. Initially, this was a day of not just deep sorrow for me but also bitter regret, because of a decision I had made and the way events subsequently unfolded. However, after 5 years and some purposeful reflection, I have come to understand that everything happens for a reason and that my decision was for the best at that time. Life is all about decision and the choices that we made at the end. If we had known the fruits of our decision, life would just be so simple, wouldn't it? It is the uncertain that make life so exciting and worth living for. 5 years on, my regrets are still with me. However, I prefer to not dwell on this and focus on living in the present. Circumstances have mould me into a stronger person. I have witness humans ugliest and God Grace in my life. I learn that nothing is forever. You will lose a lover deep love within seconds, a kinship love can be broken once the trust has been betrayed. Only God love is forever. While I do continue to see the goodness in people and believe that love is out there for all of us,I stay strong to know that I have God love forever.
